1 week 2go

Ok so Thursday just gone I had a seminar at NOVA's office in Pic circus.
This was ok, there was about 16 of us and it went fairly quickly.
We basically went over a basic day in Japan, how we will be met at the airport and some of the language out there.
After that we walked down to the Japanese embassy near Hyde Park to get the right visa put into our passport.
At the weekend my Dad and I went to M&S on Sunday and loaded me up with shirts, shoes, ties and what not that I'll need out there.
Next to do is sort out my outstanding credit card problems and get the 120k yen i need to start!

2 weeks to go

So here we are, coutdown to Japan, 2 weeks away.
Bloggin your Japanese experiences seems to be the thing to do for expats so I'm joining in.
So here's what I know already.
I'm departing LHR around 18:00 on 28th February and landing and some airport near Osaka the next day some time. It's a 12 hour flight so I'm looking forward to that. On a plus side Charley's mum did say that the food on JAL (the airline I'm flying with) is very good and very Japanese.
I know that I'm living with an American who's been there since September and a Canadian who is starting the same time as me. I also know that the apartment is tiny but I believe it is very close to my place of work. I can't find any sites that will give me a street map of the area but I'm only 1 subway stop (3 minutes) away from work so it should be a quick stroll if I'm lucky.
Things I need to do before Japan is mainly get all my clothes sorted and packed. I know I'm not going to be able to find clothes easily out there and need to get together more than the 5 shirts and 1 tie I currently have. Also need to make sure I have stupid things like towels and razors as I can just imagine wasting hours looking everywhere for them.
I've already planned my first few days in Japan. Basically I've got to get over my jet-lag, find a gym, find a health food shop and somewhere I can buy lots of cheap food. After that I can just relax and party until work starts.
I'm only going to be in Japan for 6 days until my birthday comes around so I don't know how fun that will be.
Well this will do for the first post. I doubt I'll have much more to say in the next 2 weeks and the blog will start proper when I'm actually out there.
